Data has
always been the quiet brother on the fringes of the club. Always there when you
need him, but never quite fully engaged. That’s because he’s been harboring a
secret. Long before he joined the club, he had a friend who meant the world to
him; she disappeared, prompting Data to search for her… he’s been looking ever
since.

A
mysterious message appears on an internet forum:
Does anyone remember Amalia Rose?

Of course
he does, and he will stop at nothing to get her back. His secret is out, and
life is about to change for everyone in some surprising ways.

“I’ve
loved you since the third grade Amalia Rose Junix. Nothing about that ever
changed and I never thought for a minute you left by any means other than foul
play.” I sighed and she laid her head back down, cuddling close. I could feel
the tension returning to her muscles and I wished I hadn’t said anything now. I
could feel her going back on the defensive and she was always on the defensive.
She may have loved her daddy, but I don’t think her daddy really knew how to
love her back, at least not by traditional standards. Not with all the shit he
put her through.
She came
from the epitome of a fucked-up broken home and the scars from that ran deep.
They were deeper than skin, deeper than blood and bone. These scars weren’t
something that could probably ever be fixed, but I didn’t care. I loved her for
who she was, damage and all, difficult as that sometimes made her.
At least,
with Mali, I would never, ever, be bored.
“No more
secrets, no more games,” she murmured. “Not between us.”
“No
games, no secrets,” I agreed immediately.
“I missed
there even being an ‘us’ so much,” she said and she shivered against me, the
same sort of shudder she gave when we were kids and she was fending off tears.
The same sort of shudder that always led someone to ask ‘are you all right?’
which of course led to Mali blowing up in their face in over-compensation to
prove that she was just fine.
I didn’t
fall for the trap, I just held her a little closer and smoothed my hand up and
down her sexy, toned thigh and said, “Yeah, me too. You have no idea how much.”
She
huffed a bit of an incredulous laugh and I smiled, too. If there were anyone on
the planet who knew or had any idea, yeah, it would be her. I didn’t know
exactly where to go from here. What to say, or if I should ask, and I didn’t
want to ruin this carefully cultivated calm. Seriously. We were safe here, even
though we couldn’t stay here forever, for obvious reasons. We had time, though.
Time before we had to make a move.
“Sleep,
for now, baby. We’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
“Pretty
sure it is tomorrow, and I like that.”
“Like
what?”
“That you
call me ‘baby’ so easy, like you’ve always said it.”
I
chuckled and kissed the crown of her head. If she only knew how many times I
struggled not to say it in the weeks and months leading up to her sudden
disappearance. Or how many hours I searched internet back alleys, how much time
I spent immersed in the dark web muttering over and over, ‘Where are you,
baby?’ into the dark.
Amalia
had been mine for a long, long, time. She just didn’t know it then, and I’d had
no way to tell her.
“You
really like it?” I asked, a little worried by her sudden silence. “You’re not
just saying that?”
She
pushed herself up, twisting to look down at me. Her lips echoing the movement
by twisting into a wry smile that warmed her eyes to a deep caramel.
“I love
it,” she whispered and brought her mouth down to mine for a lingering,
decadent, sweet kiss that had my dick stirring beneath the sheets all over
again. She didn’t hesitate to go exploring, wrapping sure but gentle fingers
around me; stroking me to life the rest of the way.

Fate introduces people at both the right and the wrong times…
So it is for Maren on the absolute worst day imaginable. When all hope was gone, and she was whittled away to little more than tears and despair, up walks Nox, an unlikely hero to save the day. Nox is a bad man with a heart of gold, or so it seems. It also seems that Maren has captured that heart with her wide, tear filled brown eyes. Nox never saw himself going for jailbait before, but that’s just what Maren is, all woman trapped in a seventeen year old package. Still, what he wouldn’t do for her, including taking on the unlikely role of keeper to her unruly preteen brother.

This mess could end beautifully or in some serious time spent behind bars for Nox, but sometimes, it’s worth risking it all.

Rush had always been the brother that was the most up for adventure. Then Grinder died and he realized that it was time to slow down. Fast-forward by a year and more and his older brother Archer had found Mel. Hell, his own twin was with a woman of his own! Rush is starting to get restless again, which was just perfect. Cue a string of anonymous hook-ups and one night stands. It was enough to feed the restlessness for a while, then an adventure of sorts came a callin’ by way of the VP’s estranged aunt and the President’s sister-in-law.
Her daughter was in need of some kind of white knight, which Rush could care less about, but the white knight routine did come with a pretty big perk. It would mean that he got to go back to a job that had, once upon a time, felt like a calling.
Of course, nothing was ever easy where Rush was concerned, especially when he actually set eyes on the damsel in distress. One, she wasn’t some paper princess, and two, she definitely didn’t want him around. After all, one-night hook-ups were supposed to be just that… one and done.

Reckless, dangerous, and out of control; these are the words most often applied to the SHMC’s brother Duracell. Which is why no one can understand what the deal is between him and Blue. Blue is none of those things; if anything he’s quiet, shy, and as mild-mannered as they come. There’s no balance between these two yet they are inexplicably a team. Then Blue gets a single look at Hayley, and it’s all it takes for him to know she’s their third.

Is Hayley the woman for them? A match for Blue sure, but strong enough to withstand the bizarre tempest of Cell’s personality? The two MC brothers have set their sights on the waitress and have been patiently feeling her out. Now it’s time to take the next step and see if she’s indeed able to date the both of them.

She’ll either bring balance to the boys, or Cell’s pull will knock them all off balance and send them crashing, burning them all out before anything can even fully ignite.

Hayley was asleep, her back rising and falling gently in the
morning light. Cell was awake on the other side of her, looking at her, the
calculation back on his face and I was nervous. It was like he was on the fence
and I was waiting for a final decision. Did he like it enough last night to
want to keep her, or was he of the opinion to throw her back, like some fish
he’d caught that wasn’t satisfying enough?
“She’s got a pussy with a GI-Joe Kung-Fu grip,” he muttered
and I tried not to laugh. She was laying on me, and laughing would wake her.
Shit! I lost the battle and she stirred.
“Morning,” Cell grated and Hayley inhaled sharply.
She cuddled into my side a little more and I felt her lips
curl into a smile against my skin. She kissed my chest and looked up looking
like the cat who’d gotten the cream and said, “Good morning.” I could tell that
Cell was pleased with Hayley and wanted to do more with her by what he said
next.
“Look at you shattering all those inhibitions.” He even
sounded complimentary.
I smiled to myself, the happiest I’d been for a while, and
hugged Hayley against me, pleased when Cell grinned and nipped her shoulder
before springing up into a sitting position. He scooted to the end of the bed
and stood up. Lean muscles stretched and showed off to spectacular effect,
leaving Hayley and me both staring with admiration. Cell had a great body, and
one that he didn’t have to particularly work for outside of our day job.
“You both want we should go again right now?” he asked and
Hayley blushed, but didn’t look away.
“I’m starving,” she said and Cell gave a crooked grin.
“Well, get dressed. Sunday breakfast is probably still going
on out there and we can spend the day together. Maybe go for a ride or
something.”
“My bike is back at Hayley’s,” I said.
“Shit, yeah, I saw her cage out there when I came in last
night.”
“That’s okay,” Hayley piped up. “I mean, we can go get it. I
can dress warmer…”
“Yeah?” Cell asked, making sure.
“Yeah.”
He nodded and smiled, “Alright then.”
We got dressed, and Hayley looked beautiful with her hair
tousled by sleep and sex. I handed her a comb after running it through my own
short hair and apologized that I didn’t have anything better. She smiled and
laughed slightly.
“Its fine,” she said and went to her down jacket, getting her
hairclip out of her pocket. She stood in front of the dresser mirror and combed
through her long hair patiently, before gathering it into a ponytail. I watched
her, fixated, the way her sweatshirt hung artfully off one shoulder, the way she
swept up her hair, the elegant line of her neck revealed…
We’d shared something last night. Something deep and personal
and I cherished it. I cherished her. I never wanted to let her go. I knew what
this was. I’d felt it once before and I looked at Cell, the only other person
I’d felt it for. He lifted one side of his mouth in a sardonic smile and shook
his head at me. He knew. He knew, too, but he also was letting me have this.
Gratitude swamped me and I felt the urge to go to him and kiss
him. I’d had that urge a time or two in the past when it’d come to him. Only
tried the one time, the first time, and had had my ass beat for the trouble.
Instead, I pulled the treasure that was Hayley into my arms. She looked up at
me and smiled, a light of happiness in her eyes.
I bent and kissed her, putting everything into it that I was
feeling at that moment, pleased that I completely stole her breath away.
I raised up so that I could see her face, and her eyes were
closed, her body relaxed, and her expression one of concentration. As if she
were committing the feel of my lips, this moment, to memory.
She was so the right girl…
“Hey, no way I can top that… I’ll get mine later.” Cell said,
holding up his hands when Hayley turned to him. She smiled, and picked up her
shoes, going to the bed to sit on its edge to put them on.
I looked at Cell and he gave me a still look back. He wasn’t
in the mood for contact that wasn’t on his terms today. I could respect that.
Hayley, I worried, wouldn’t understand it. So, we had to work together to
strike a balance, for now…
Cell pulled his shirt over his head and down over his belt
line and sat down to pull on his boots. I pulled on mine and we were just about
out of here. I held out Hayley’s coat for her and she shrugged into it. I
looped her scarf around her neck and pulled her in pecking her on the nose and
she laughed.
“Come on you two, I believe the lady mentioned she was
starving and I’m not far behind her.” Cell tossed me my jacket and cut, his
already on, and opened up my door, ushering us out into the hall with a wave of
his hand. Hayley paused before going through and reached out, laying a hand
along Cell’s face. He flinched slightly, but she didn’t take notice. I saw it
though, a slight movement, a tightening of the muscles around his eyes, his jaw
clenching slightly.
“Thank you,” she murmured and he smiled, all charm and turned
his face, pressing his mouth to the center of her palm and giving it a quick
peck.
“No problem,” he said and Hayley stepped past him the rest of
the way. I gave him a nod and he gave one back and we went to breakfast. He
even sucked it up and held her other hand as we walked from the barracks to the
back door of the club.

Release Blitz: With My Whole Heart by MariaLisa deMora

Title: With My Whole Heart
Author: MariaLisa deMora
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 20, 2017

With My Whole Heart is
a complicated story about family.

Jaime’s a young, single mother who is trying to make ends meet, feeling like
she’s always waging an uphill battle to make sure she and her son are housed,
fed, and healthy. Connor’s designed his life to stay too busy for
relationships.

How complicated is it?

She’s his big brother’s surrogate, and he’s the sperm donor. How in the hell
would this ever work? Connor didn’t know, but he was determined to convince the
feisty little blonde to take a chance on him. What he didn’t realize was it
meant taking a chance on himself, too.

Caution: This isn’t an MC story. If you’re looking for grit, you’ll need to get
your hard on somewhere else. No one gets kidnapped or assaulted in this one. Or
even runs around without underwear on, I mean … the hero wears boxers at one
point. Come on! It’s like I don’t know the me who wrote it. Plus it’s super
sappy in places, and an unusual story setup. It’s not a feckin’ unicorn, but
it’ll do.

“This book has a special place in my heart. I
was pulled in from the first words to the last. I love when a story calls to my
heart, when you can honestly relate to the characters.” – Shay from Mommys a Book Whore

“This author’s writing is just so sublime –
the hard edges of the brittle life she depicted through clipped dialogue and
terse prose in Bones being smoothed out and rounded eloquently into this
intimate romance, centred as it is around warm, loving people who care so
deeply for one another.” – Carcoura LaRomantique, Goodreads review

“This book is epically brilliant. Between her
genius little boy and her tough backbone, you can’t help but admire Jaime.” – Angela, Goodreads review

“I finished reading with a smile on my face and joyful heart.
I recommend to all who want a story full of emotions and good feelings.” – Lu Bielefeld *Book Whore Brazil*

From
Chapter 6
Connor
Standing just around the corner from the living room, Connor was glad no one had heard him come in the front door.
Marie and Cooper both knew where he stood on this meeting, and it wasn’t in favor of it at all. If they’d seen him, they would have clammed up, afraid to set him off. He was excited about them having another baby, knew it was something Marie had dreamed of nearly since Sam was put in her arms.
With a gestational carrier, he had no worries there. There was absolutely nothing to tie the baby back to the womb that nurtured during the pregnancy. Needing an egg donor, well, he got that it took two to tango, and with Marie’s eggs not an option, a donor was necessary. But he’d urged them to do a blind donation, not someone you had to look in the face for nine months. Sperm donor, also a
necessity, and one he was honored his brother had asked him to do again.
Connor didn’t get confused, though, didn’t have any issues with Sam calling him Uncle Con. Never thought of the boy as his child. Sam was Cooper’s kid, end of story. This, though? Having the egg donor and carrier in one person and then getting to know that person intimately? Mistake.
That was how he’d felt until five minutes ago, at least.
Hearing this woman express sorrow at the death of someone she never knew shocked him, but her sincerity couldn’t be questioned. She sounded like she knew how it felt, and the genuine sadness in her voice picked at the scar he carried inside him.
When Cole had died, he’d known it. The minute it happened, he’d felt it. That damn psychic tie so many twins had that he and science couldn’t explain. The echo that had been so strong between them, always. Bicycle wrecks and broken hearts, everything had been shared between the two of them.
It meant the very instant his brother was no longer breathing on this earth had branded in his brain. Connor had been on the basketball court, taking a class of
freshmen through a new set of drills when it felt like his heart exploded. He’d
fallen to his knees, hands clutching his chest, silent in the face of an overwhelming pain. Scared the fuck out of the kids. They’d thought Coach was having a heart attack, and two of them had dialed 911, calling the sheriff to the school before he could stop them, leaving Connor to have to try and explain something he couldn’t even put words to.
Four days later, when the same sheriff came visiting they’d shared a knowing look. It wasn’t news to Connor that Cole was gone. Not to him. The silence in his head was enough proof for him.
If I’d gone in the military with him, I would have been there. Could have saved him. That was the only thing he and his twin had ever really argued about, and in the end, Cole’s driven need to protect and serve had won out, separating the
two men for the first time in their lives.
Connor hadn’t felt the same calling, though. Cole had enlisted and headed to boot camp, and Connor had gone to college instead.
He listened to the murmur of voices grow softer, more distant and knew Cooper,
Marie, and the woman had gone into the kitchen. Connor had been supposed to
meet her, not understanding why Cooper wanted him to have a face to go with the carrier’s name, Jaime Grimes, but he’d been willing to go along with it. He’d
laughed and told his brother, “Least I can do.”
Connor lifted a hand, knuckles grinding roughly across his sternum, accepting the pain as his due.
Knowing this woman standing in his big brother’s kitchen understood about loss, too, he couldn’t go in there. Couldn’t face her, afraid she’d see the guilt he tried to keep buried. If I’d been there.
Turning on his heel, he stalked to the door and went out, closing it soundlessly behind him.

Raised in the south, MariaLisa learned about the magic of books at an early age. Every summer, she would spend hours in the local library, devouring books of every genre. Self-described as a book-a-holic, she says “I’ve always loved to read, but then I discovered writing, and found I adored that, too. For reading … if nothing else is available, I’ve been known to read the back of the cereal box.”

A hockey fan, hiker, gamer, and single mom of a special needs son, she embraces her inner geek and has been working in the tech field for a publishing company for a couple decades.

Music is a driving passion, and she says, “I love music of nearly any genre — jazz, country, rock, alt rock, metal, classical, bluegrass, rap, hip hop … you name it, I listen to it. I can often be seen dancing through the house in the early mornings. But I really, REALLY love live music. My favorite thing with music is seeing bands in small, dive bars [read: small, intimate venues]. If said bar [venue] has a good selection of premium tequila, then that’s a plus!”

Cover Reveal: Brother In Arms by A.J. Downey

Title: Brother in Arms
Series: The Sacred Brotherhood Book III
Author:  A.J. Downey
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: TBD
Cover designed by: Dar Albert from Wicked Smart Designs

Rush had always been the brother that was the most up for adventure. Then
Grinder died and he realized that it was time to slow down. Fast-forward by a
year and more and his older brother Archer had found Mel. Hell, his own twin
was with a woman of his own!
One, she wasn’t some paper
princess, and two, she definitely didn’t want him around. After all, one-night hook-ups were supposed to be just that… one and done.

I turned around and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and put my hair into a braid over my shoulder, listening to the vacuum run downstairs as Nox cleaned up his and my brother’s disaster area. Truthfully, I didn’t mind the mess. Especially when Sage seemed almost happy when I’d come home. Equally, as honestly, I was grateful that Nox was cleaning it up. I just didn’t have the energy; I was so deeply mentally, and emotionally, exhausted.

I shut off the tap after spitting a final time and rinsed my brush to total silence in the house. When I stood up, I jumped and clapped my hands over my mouth to keep from screaming. Nox frowned at me from over my shoulder in the bathroom mirror.

“Jesus, Angel,” he whispered. “He’s got you jumping at everything.”

“I’m sorry,” I muttered quietly, lowering my hands from my mouth and smoothing over my nightgown. Nox raised an eyebrow, noticing it for the first time. It was black satin and ankle length, clinging to what curves I had, with lace panels just beneath my breasts, along the ribs. Not exactly something I advertise, but I liked to wear nice things to bed. I just usually had a robe on over them. My scruffy, fluffy bathrobe hung on the back of the door, just inside my reach. I tended to have water drip down my arm when I brushed and when it caught the edge of my sleeve, I hated that. It was like tiny wet kisses against my wrist from Satan with how much I detested it.

“I like this,” Nox said softly, and his eyes, for as pale as they were, went dark with a hunger that had nothing to do with food. I swallowed hard and whispered, “Pumpkins, remember?”

“I do,” he murmured back, but that didn’t stop him from capturing my hand with his and drawing me closer. He lifted my hand to his mouth and turned it, placing his lips softly to the inside of my wrist.

“Everything is cleaned up, downstairs.”

“Thank you,” I murmured, throat tight with the urge I had to just pull myself the rest of the way into his arms and put my lips up against his. The struggle was absolutely real, and I could tell it was for both of us. What I couldn’t tell was if that made things easier or if that made things just that much harder.

“Come on, let an old man tuck you in,” he said, teasing.

“You’re not old,” I murmured and took the last step into his personal space. His hands smoothed over the satin over my hips and he closed his eyes as if committing the feeling of me beneath them to memory.

I have been an avid reader for most of my life. When I
was younger I use to sit and fill spiral notebooks full of stories for my
grandmother. As I got older I took the jobs needed for raising my boys as a
single mom until I met my now amazing husband. I have stopped working in the
last three years and started promoting authors, then I blogged and reviewed for
authors, which lead me down the path to writing and creating characters and
stories. I love creating behind the scenes with my writing getting to use my
imagination and write the story as it comes to me. My youngest is now a senior
in High School leaving me with some spare time on my hands to be filled. I am
loving the people I am meeting and the support system I have found.

“You’ve been movin’ around
this place like some kind of ghost since we got back from the club. It’s
driving me nuts, so how about you tell me what’s up? You having second thoughts
or some shit?”
Melody looked up from where she sat, Indian style in the middle of the bed.
It’d been something like two or three days since we’d been at the club and
she’d been quieter than usual, which she’d practically been a fuckin’ church
mouse to begin with. Her phone forgotten in her hands she opened her mouth to
speak, thought better of it, closed it, opened it again only to turn around and
shut it again.

To make my point that I wasn’t going anywhere until I got some kind of an
answer, I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned a shoulder against the edge
of the open doorway. She leaned way over to get a look around me into the
living room.

“He’s out cold already,” I assured her and she leaned back slowly, resuming her
seated position in the middle of my bed. I’d kept sleeping on the couch,
figuring I’d be back in it soon enough once she and I were married, a couple of
weeks more didn’t make much difference.

She pinned me with those beautiful blue eyes of her and nervously pushed some
of that gorgeous blonde hair of hers behind her ear. Melody damn sure was a
beautiful woman. I was lucky on that score. Even luckier that she was a fine
mother and homemaker. Still, I was getting tired of her looking so rundown and
fuckin’ scared all the time, but I couldn’t fix it if I didn’t know what was
freaking her out so hard.

“I’m scared,” she admitted finally, and it was a start.

“Of what?” I asked, needing to know which dragon to slay would be an even
better starting point, but I could tell by the expression on her face I was
gonna have to drag it out of her. I hated that. Why couldn’t women ever be
straightforward like most dudes? I ask a question, I expect an answer but if
what I suspected were true…

“Of… of you,” she said finally and my suspicions were dead on confirmed. Well,
shit. Now how did I go about fixing that?

“Okay,” I said judiciously. “Why? What am I doing to scare you? Give me some
specifics.”

She smoothed her lips together and I realized I was looking forward to seeing
if they were as soft as they looked. She swallowed hard, and voice trembling,
said, “I don’t know if it’s anything specific…” I snorted and she looked like a
deer caught in the fuckin’ headlights.

“Don’t bullshit me, Mel. I promise not to get pissed off, but you gotta tell
me, else I can’t work on it, or fix it now can I?”

“No, I suppose not,” she said softly and I had to wait her out. I could see her
trying to gather up her thoughts. The slight line that developed between her
eyes as she thought furiously how best to say it, was cute on her.

Still, I didn’t have endless patience so I finally sighed and said, “Just gimme
the short version, and spill it. I gotta try and get some sleep tonight.”

“I don’t know how I’m supposed to… I don’t know if I can…”

“Fuck me?” I asked, the heat lending a sweet blush of color across her cheeks
cluing me in.

“I’ve never done sex without love… You’re attractive, Archer, don’t get me
wrong but I’m a woman and feelings… we have to have feelings as a part of it,
it’s just how it works, I guess…” she covered her face with her hands, “Oh,
god!” She groaned, “I’m saying this all wrong and I don’t want to hurt your
feelings but it’s important and I’m so sorry, but I’m really struggling and the
girls back in Arizona always said you were rough and that scares me too, and I
just am trying to get my head around it and I’m struggling… I’m sorry.” I let
her babble and repeat herself and waited her out until she was finished and
somewhat beyond that.

I could feel the slight smirk on my lips, a defense mechanism if I were being
totally honest, because what she said did sting, but I had to be honest with
myself, it wasn’t totally unexpected. Finally, she gave me what I wanted,
lowering her hands and looking at me.

“First of all, those girls back in AZ? I don’t and didn’t give a fuck about
them, so why would I give a shit? They weren’t mine, and I was just in it to
get my rocks off, meet a physical need, you get me?”

Again with that adorable little thoughtful frown. Mel nodded slowly, and I was
pretty sure she didn’t get what I was saying but I wasn’t too terribly worried
about it, because soon enough she would. I was a ‘doer’ by nature. I didn’t
really dig sitting around talking about shit, the only reason I was indulging
her in it now, was because I thought she was gonna worry herself sick and back
out…
