ABOUT THE BOOK:

Desperate to gain the funds needed to start a new life, Hannah decides to work as a submissive, agreeing to be auctioned off to the highest bidding dominant at Baton Timide, an exclusive members only club. The winning bidder owns the submissive for a weekend of whatever they command. It’s her first auction and she’s prepared herself for whatever may come.

Drew, a VIP at Baton Timide, has had two weeks from hell and is looking forward to unleashing some much needed stress, and what better way than with one of the lovely subs at auction. From the moment he sees Hannah on stage, he knows he must possess her and when he does, is confused by the overwhelming feelings he has for her.

Hannah walks away at the end of the weekend without looking back, and Drew attempts to do the same, but can’t erase her from his mind, his skin, and he fears, even his heart. When a chance sighting of Hannah in the real world occurs, Drew discovers a secret that forces him to question everything he thought he knew about himself and his heart.

OUR REVIEW HERE:

Hannah couldn’t believe she was discussing this, even though Domme Maria had explained this would occur. And really, it was a good Dom who did discuss these things. “Cuffs are okay, I prefer not to use metal. I have to go back to the real world on Monday and don’t want to have to explain any marks. Rope is okay. Zip ties are possible, again, as long as they don’t leave any marks.” “Okay, perfect. That’s enough for now. I’m not sure how much torture I can fit into a single weekend anyway,” Drew said with a wink.

BDSM is not something that is really discussed outside of the bedroom, unless you are really comfortable with that part of your life. This story does not hold a heavy dose of BDSM, but rather a light twist to a much grander romantic encounter. Windsor entertains the reader with a new spin on finding Mr. Right in one of the most unusual ways.

Hannah begins working in a club under the alias of Scarlet, where she is auctioned out for sex. It’s no big deal, sex is sex and it is only one weekend. In exchange, she can earn enough money to purchase the shop that she has always wanted and move forward with her life. Once the auction begins, she is fully exposed to many prying eyes and at first, becomes uncomfortable. Her first encounter with a dom is harsh. He is rich, but arrogant and unkind as he speaks and touches her. Looking around the room, her eyes meet a man who invigorates her, makes her feel sexy with just his stare but he doesn’t show interest. She becomes hungry for his touch, wondering what it would be like to be his winning bid.

Drew has been coming to the club for a while now, spending way too much money, but then he can because he has a multi-billion dollar company. After his divorce, his life is very simple. He comes, he bids on a woman for the weekend to satisfy his primal needs, and then he returns back to his life as a business man. This time feels different though, and he figures out why when the women all walk onto the stage to greet them. There is one sub that is new to the auction and she is breathtakingly beautiful. There is something drawing him to her and that confuses him, but he is sure about one thing…he will bid whatever it takes to spend his weekend with her in his bed.

Windsor has a promising first installment with The Winning Bid. The characters are imperfect, humorous, full of emotion, and entertaining. The story flows easily and makes it a fast read, but there is a cliffhanger. The second installment has already been published, which makes it easy to finish this one and then grab the next if you are not particularly keen on cliffhangers. If you are a reader of romance with light BDSM, you may be interested in this book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I am a full-time working mom of two teenage boys, one grown daughter, and wife of one seriously amazing husband. We live in a suburb about 25 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts with our two dogs, two cats and two birds. I often joke that all I need now is an Ark…. I have loved reading since I was a little girl, and fell in love with writing as a teenager. Hoping to share some of my wicked imagination with you, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and self-publish. It’s a scary thing and I truly hope you are able to escape reality for just a little bit with my stories.
