Meet ivy league socialite, Leo Richards, and struggling ballerina, Adeline Parker, in this angsty, emotional page-turner.
POINTE Getting screwed over backstage by my married-ex tears my heart into a million tiny pieces. Sitting in the audience at the ballet with my former fling wasn’t my idea of fun.
I live in my pointe shoes, not even my ex can taint my love for ballet. I hate the ballet. This on again/off again crap was getting old. And then my whole world changes when I notice the smoldering gaze… Then I look to the stage, and I can’t take my eyes off…
OF… Leo Richards. Adeline Parker. Concentrating on anything except his sexy…everything, is impossible. Her presence commands my attention…I’ve never experienced this before.
He makes me second-guess everything I’ve ever dreamed about. She makes me question everything I’ve ever known.
Fighting him is a strategic sport—no clothes allowed. All I can think about are her sexy ballerina legs wrapped around me—tutu definitely on.
BREAKING Our scandalous rendezvous is plastered all over NYC’s tabloids. Because of my status in Manhattan, now I’ve dragged her into the limelight.
My ex will stop at nothing to tear us apart. Seriously powerful people forbid me to be with her.
Rumors about his past keep building. I can’t tell her this secret.
When it came to Leo, I only knew the big things. When it came to Adeline, I knew nothing about the little things. But uncovering those things about him [her] may push us past our breaking point.

Review: This story is beautiful! Amy Daws & Sarah J Pepper did a wonderful collaboration for Pointe of Breaking because it is absolutely heartfelt, stunning and holds emotional depth. This story begins with heartbreak, Adeline is a beautiful and talented ballerina who just can’t seem to wash away all of her tears for her ex. As he comes back into the picture with false meaning and pent up lies, she wants to believe him again…she wants to believe that his keeping her a secret from everyone is in the past. Upon returning to her big performance on stage with disheveled hair and different clothing, she knows that the rage building inside of her from seeing her ex with his new wife, out in the audience, right after their run in…will have everything to do with whether she will make it or not. Adeline is a fighter though and she is strong. Once her performance unfolds, right there in front of thousands, she sees one person who could change her life forever…but would she be able to take that leap of faith again? His name…Leo.
My favorite character in this wonderful story is Ivan. Adeline is strong and has built her life up from nothing…but Ivan has always been her one reason to strive for more…for the best. He is a loving friend and his talent is equivalent to hers on the stage. They make the perfect team and everyone loves their performances…stunning performances that make their career soar. I would really love to read more about Ivan’s chance at finding love. If the authors have a chance to work together again, this would be my ideal read for a future collaboration. Adeline’s anger and rash decisions are all too familiar with some of my own; therefore, I could relate to her on a personal level. Being able to do so, I really enjoyed reading about her battles and ability to live through them to find a better life.
In my opinion, the targeted audience would be women; however, the book is cast with duel point of views. I really enjoyed reading this novel because the authors completely broke their characters down to the highest vulnerability possible and then built them back up to be stronger than ever. It was a mixture of love, hate, pain, friendship and guilt. I rate Pointe of Breaking with five stars due to the intense emotion, extraordinary creativity and originality along with complexity of character personality. I look forward to reading more from Amy Daws and Sarah J Pepper in the future since I really enjoyed their style of writing and enthusiasm.
Amy Daws lives in South Dakota with her husband, Kevin, and their miracle daughter, Lorelei. The long-awaited birth of Lorelei is what inspired Amy’s first book, Chasing Hope, and her passion for writing. On most nights, you can find Amy and her family dancing to Strawberry Shortcake’s theme song or stuffing themselves inside children’s-sized playhouses because there is nothing they wouldn’t do for their little miracle. Sarah J. Pepper specializes in dark, paranormal romance – think “happy ever after” but with a twisted, dark chocolate center. Real-life romance isn’t only filled with hugs, kisses, bunnies, and rainbows. True-love can be more thoroughly described in times of darkness and tribulation. It’s in those harsh moments where you see what a person is truly capable of – both the good and bad. Sometimes prince-charming isn’t always on time, and the glass slipper is a little snug.
