Release Blitz + Review: Ever Over After by J.A. DeRouen
Ever Over After (The Over Duet #2)
Cover Design: DCP Designs
Release Date: January 9, 2017
ABOUT THE BOOK: Marlo … wild-eyed, untamed, and every single thing I’ve ever wanted from this life. I wasn’t ready for her back then. I was a stupid boy with adult feelings and no idea what to do with them. I squandered away every chance she gave me.
Yes, love like ours either burns white hot or crumbles under the pressure.
And now I’m back to sift through the rubble.
Questions and excuses are two things I have in spades. What I need now are answers.
Answers and Low.
My name is Ever Montgomery, and this is my story of love resurrected.
TURNING ANOTHER PAGE GIVES A 5-STAR REVIEW FOR EVER OVER AFTER:
“You and I have only a few minutes of peace and quiet left, tiny one, and I feel an obligation to impart some sort of wisdom to you, being as this is your first conversation and all,” I whisper, sliding her hat over her head as I ponder what I want to say. I crook her bow hat off to the side and swaddle her in the baby blankets. “So this is the lowdown. Accessories are king, cupcakes cure everything, and men are like tissues. One use only. Except for your dad, of course. I’m pretty sure he’s a keeper. Remember those things, and you’re golden.
Second chance love is such a mystery, one full of heartbreak, love lost, love won and loads of distance in between. All things happen for a reason, but do those reasons always justify the emotional roller coaster that comes with it? This author brings out the worst and the best in her characters throughout both the Over Series and most recent Over Duet. Readers will be entertained and emotionally driven to finish this second half of the duet, the continuation of Ever and Marlo’s journey.
Ever has rekindled a relationship with his mother, after the death of his father. This relationship was one that he never thought could be rewarding, but the loss of brother and son gave them both the guidance that they needed to mend broken fences. It has been eight years since Marlo disappeared from Ever’s life…but the funny thing is that he still can’t get her out of his head. She was the love of his life, so why did she leave him? Ever and his best friend Jeb open up a new restaurant in Providence, where he becomes the new chef for West and Alex’s wedding. One fateful glimpse of Marlo is all that it takes to bring everything back…as if it was just yesterday. She has become the perfect epitome of sassy and sexy, all balled up into this new woman who he has dreamed about for years. All he knows is that she won’t disappear on him this time because he is as clean as he has ever been and with Easton forever in his heart and mind, he is also as strong as he has ever been too. Will second chances be their fate? Can time heal all wounds?
DeRouen has a fantastic story-line with superb character development. The pace moves quickly, making the story enjoyable and easy to follow. There were a few grammatical and spelling errors here and there, but this may have been cleaned up before release since an advanced reader copy was originally provided. If you are a reader of women’s fiction or new adult and college, you may be interested in this book. Since this is the second installment within the Over Duet, it is highly recommended that the first installment be read prior to this one.
A copy of this book was provided to Turning Another Page by Sassy Saavy Fabulous PR & Marketing, but this in no way affects our honest opinion of the book or the review that has been written.
