AJ Adams novels are all self-standing and although some feature the same families, you need not read them all – although it would be awesome if you did!

The Degas Girl

Organized Crime. Dark Romance

Degas cover.jpgSerenity Bishop is a work of art. Her skin a canvas, decorated with the scars of her evil captor’s twisted abuse. But her tormentor, Angelo, is about to lose control.

Zachary Schiavelli is an art thief and forger. His handsome face is merely the mask that hides a cold, calculating man whose own childhood of abuse has honed him into a remorseless killing machine. Zachary is about to take an intense disliking to Angelo.

In a violent tale of mob rule where violence begets violence, an unlikely alliance between two forces of nature is about to change the face of organized crime. When Serenity and Zachary collide, it’s an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, and everyone around them is about to get caught in the crossfire. A complete novel with no cliffhangers. A violent tale of mob rule and dark romance. Warning contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex. Adults only.

degas6.jpgHe wore jeans and a turquoise T-shirt. The colour made his eyes look blue instead of green. I wasn’t fooled by his looks and his gentle ways. This man had a will of iron, and by the way he looked at me, I could see he was just as determined to control me as Angelo. He just used his tongue instead of his fists.

I’d go along with it, because anything that kept me out of the hole meant I had a chance to escape. I’d pretend to be docile, and as soon as he fell asleep or took his eye off me, I’d make a run for it.

He looked me over, frowning slightly. Suddenly I wondered if he was changing his mind. Maybe he wasn’t going to let me eat. Maybe it was a game. Maybe he’d show me the food, and then tie me up and leave me to starve while he stuffed his face. I was trembling at the thought.

Fantasy, Dark Romance

beast cover.jpgHe stuck the knife in the ground and stripped off his leathers. The tunic came off, revealing a long, lean, muscled torso, covered in tattoos. Snakes ran up and down his arms, his pecs and his shoulders. A skull blazed on his chest.

Then he was pushing apart my legs, settling between my thighs, leaning over me. He smelled of smoke, leather and musk. It was terrifying, like being at the mercy of an animal.

Falsely accused, Wynne is determined to clear her name. However, a trip to petition the Steward at Brighthelme turns disastrous when the Beasts, fearsome warriors from the frozen north, raze the city. When Wynne is carried away, she’s determined to regain her freedom but Rune, her captor, has other ideas.

Beast is set in Prydain, an imaginary place that combines Anglo-Saxon England with Medieval England, the Teutonic Kingdom and the Viking Age. This story contains kidnapping, dubious consent and graphic violence, however, it is a love story rather than a dark romance. It is a standalone novel; no cliff-hangers.

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex.

A Belial MC novel

helpless cover.jpgFracas Macintyre has been in and out of trouble all her life but this time it’s worse than ever. In debt to a loan shark, she’s caught up in a war between the Alistairs, nicknamed The Irish Mob, and Belial’s Disciples, England’s nastiest MC. Kidnapped and at the mercy of Caden Winslow, Fracas is convinced that life is going to get very nasty indeed.

Caden Winslow is an ex soldier used to taking care of business. When an Alistair henchman steals his beloved Busa, he simply takes one of theirs hostage and expects a simple trade will solve the problem. However, Caden is about to be pulled into a war.

Warning: This book is a dark romance. It contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex. It is for adults only.

I opened the boot, and at the sight of the girl, Crush began grinning. “Hey, is that for me, too?”

“You can go fuck yourself!” The little tart blew up instantly. “You evil bastard, let me go!”

“Whoo! I like her!”

Crush is a man who enjoys performing to the stereotypical outlaw biker image. This time I could see he meant it, and so did the girl. She opened her mouth, spotted Crush’s cut and went very quiet.

“You can’t have her. She’s my collateral.” I pulled her towards me, snapped through her ankle ties with the box cutter and threw her over my shoulder. She muttered furiously, but she’d stopped fighting. I could feel her raise her head and look over the crowd of gathering Disciples. She shivered and went limp. I guess she didn’t like the look of the party.

Crush was still curious. “Collateral for what?”

“Alistair’s man took my Busa.”

“You’re shitting me!”

The Bonus

A Zeta cartel novel

Organized Crime. Dark Romance

bonus cover.jpgChloe is a seasoned drug courier who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Facing a lingering and painful death at the hands of the Zetas, Mexico’s most brutal cartel, she persuades their enforcer to claim her. Has Chloe made a huge mistake, or will her choice prove her salvation – and his?

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex.

Action, adventure, Organized Crime.

Dark Romance. BDSM

deliverance cover.jpgMac is all set for an undercover job when an old friend lands him with Pepper, a human trafficking victim of a Moroccan-Turkish crime syndicate. Unable to turn her away, Mac now has two missions: to infiltrate a terrorist training camp in the Sahara and to be a Master for Pepper.

Warning: contains graphic violence and sex.

Standalone novel, no cliffhangers

A Zeta cartel novel

Organized Crime. Dark Romance. BDSM

When cartel boss Artursongbird cover.jpgo Vazquez discovers his girlfriend Gina is a DEA rat and his deputy Escamilla is staging a take-over, Arturo fixes his problems by killing everyone – except for Solitaire, Escamilla’s unwilling mistress. Solitaire is intelligent, tough, and shares Arturo’s interest in BDSM. Arturo falls head over heels but someone is leaking information – and the evidence point at Solitaire.

“You’re the big boss.” She looked up at me and smiled. She was dressed in a cheap cotton shirt and jeans that should be on the burn pile, but that smile was pure gold. This girl had guts.

“I told José he was a fool to try and cheat you,” she said. “I wasn’t part of it, and I don’t work for you. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

She’d heard about our policy protecting bystanders. Of course it doesn’t apply to anyone whose eyewitness testimony can put me in a courtroom. Well, try to put me in a courtroom. In Mexico nobody would dare accuse me, and I’ve enough resources in England to guarantee a police investigation would come to nothing, but it’s not my style to take chances. Solitaire would be going into the ground along with Escamilla.

“Mr Vazquez,” Solitaire gave me her best smile. “I don’t expect something for nothing.” She dropped her voice. “You’d like me,” she whispered. “I’ve heard about you. We’re the same.”

“Are we?”

“Yes, I can make you very happy.” She brushed my hand over her cheek and then kissed my palm. “I’m a very good girl,” she said quietly. “Unless you prefer a naughty one?”

She sucked my thumb, and I was instantly rock hard.

Dirty Dealings

A Zeta cartel novel

Organized Crime. Romance

dirty dealings cover.jpgI could’ve fucking strangled her. She knew it too because she stepped away quickly. “Touch me and I’ll have you!” she snarled.

“Bruja mala leche! What the fuck do you think you’re playing at! You can’t push me around!”

“Sure I can.” Her eyes were slate grey, the same colour as the sky, and just as cold. “I need help, and you’re going to give it.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“I’ve got a situation. I need someone who isn’t afraid of murder and mayhem.”

I should have charmed her, offered to help and maybe it would have settled it, but I was too mad to even consider it. “Help you? Over my dead fucking body!”

She shrugged. “We can do it that way, too.” She took out her phone. “I’ll call you soon, hopefully within the hour. If you still refuse, I call Smith.” The eyes were hard. “I’d rather not shop you, because I hate that bastard, but I will if you make me.”

I gave her my number. I mean, I wanted to kill her, but in London they notice things like bodies in the street. Especially if you’re careless enough to do it in broad daylight next to a cop shop.

Quique is having a bad time. Back in Mexico his marriage has fallen apart and his wife has made him a laughing stock by cheating on him. Now he’s in London and finding himself out of his depth with a complex commercial deal. To make things worse, Natalia Truelove, a chef and pub manager, is blackmailing him. Quique is ready to commit murder and he’s pretty sure who his first victim will be.

Warning: Dirty Dealings contains strong adult language and themes as well as graphic violence and fully depicted love scenes.

Book Tour + Review: The Hazards of the Old Ones by Ren Garcia

About the Book

Life ends, new life is born. Everything balances. When Carahil, an Elemental Spirit, witnesses the destruction of an entire world, he’s faced with the ultimate question: how far is he willing to go to save it? Carahil will gather friends-like Lord and Countess Blanchefort, renowned Fleet Captain and ex-Black Hat, to help. He’ll destroy lives, like that of Captain Davage’s best friend and first officer, Lt. Kilos, who is made to quit her job aboard the Seeker and go into the dreaded Hazards of the Old Ones: a place where only she can stand. Carahil will also search out disreputable sources like the scalawag Duke of Oyln, who has something malicious and wailing locked away in his dungeon. To make matters worse, hidden forces threaten to destroy everyone Carahil needs to help him. Ominous messages from nowhere, surprise visits, phantom people and taunting voices complicate matters. However, the most dangerous threat to this mission could be Carahil himself, who faces demonic transformation for getting involved and may upset the cosmic Scales of the Universe in a bad way. Carahil, though struggling to achieve a greater good, might be the cause of a horrific tragedy instead. Hell awaits should he fail.

“Look at me and see what is to come…” his twin said again. He didn’t want to look, but his evil twin insisted. “Look, look. See the dying. Listen to the screaming… Can you hear it?” Can you hear it? He looked into his twin’s wide eyes and saw everything. So much death, so much loss under purple skies and upon sandy ground. He listened to dying mouths praying to be saved. “Save us!” “Save us! Who will save us?” “What have we done to deserve this?” He stood there on his haunches and wept, unable to turn away. “You can save them,” he said. “None of this has to be. Simply go there and perform a miracle, listen to their praise. They will love you. They will lift their cups and call you a god. Be a god for them…and set me free.” “I can’t—I can’t simply save a bunch of people, I’ll become a demon! I’ll go to the Windage!”

What would you do if someone came to you and said that many others were in danger and needed you to save them? What if you weren’t allowed to save them—but had to watch as they suffered? This author shares an entire universe of adventure and mystery with his readers, one filled with creativity and depth. What will be the outcome of unlikely friends, lovers, criminals and those who they rule over?

Davage and Lt Kilos are out on business throughout the year, attending to different necessities in space and on different planets. While they are away, Carahil (an elemental spirit created by Lady Poe) is visited by what seems like his twin, telling him that many people will suffer and die if he doesn’t set him free. He comes up with the brilliant idea of having others assist him, like Lord and Countess Blanchfort (a once Black Hat, changed into Silver Tech), Lt Kilos and the Duke of Olyn (a scalawag). Being faced with a dangerous ultimatum, what will become of this adventure, especially with the all-powerful sisters making unwelcome appearances and notes appearing from an unknown source named “M”, warning them all of danger and death? Where will this journey lead and how can they overcome the obstacles?

Garcia has a superb story-line and complex characters that are unbelievably creative and strong. The content is truly amazing by the sheer originality and descriptiveness. At first, the pace may seem a bit slow, but it does pick up speed once the characters become familiarized. There are little to no errors, making it an easy read…but it is a lengthy book. If you are a reader of fantasy and science fiction, this may be perfect for you. It is strongly advised that since this is classified as dark fantasy, it is not recommended for children or teens due to content.

WTMO Author Bio Banner Final.jpg
Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.

I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

This book is written for anyone who has a genuine desire to move forward in their lives but, despite numerous attempts, nothing seems to be working and you keep ending up with the same outcomes year after year. You will learn how to recognize habitual patterns of thought that are sabotaging your life on an unconscious level. Everyone has good intentions for their lives and ultimately wants the best outcomes, but oftentimes we get in our own way by allowing self-destructive thought patterns to impede our good intentions—without actually knowing we are doing so. I know this all too well because this was my life for several years. This book was written because of my own personal experiences in life, and the experiences of my clients that I serve in my practice. This book gets right down to your core by unveiling the good, the bad, and the ugly about the way you think about yourself and everything that is happening in your life. In essence, this book is entirely about YOU! Most of us try to change ourselves at the level of our thoughts, but true transformation happens at the level at which you vibrate. You will learn how to completely shift your vibrational way of thinking and allow better circumstances to come into your life, whatever they may be. Whether you want to get unstuck in a relationship pattern or a financial pattern that keeps coming up, this book serves as a guide that will explore the moments when you get into trouble, and offers tools for learning to stay with your uneasiness, and offers concrete steps to get unstuck so you can finally move forward in life.

You will learn the O.P.E.N.U.P. steps: Observation, Permission, Experience, Not Identifying, Understanding, and Practice. These steps will serve as your doorway into revealing the very thing that is keeping you stuck. Once you discover those “hidden” truths about yourself, your entire state of being will be altered, and you will no longer resist all the good that life has in store for you.

Experience is having complete acceptance of ourselves as we are in a simple, direct relationship with our being. It teaches us not to close up and constrict ourselves by facing our fears and challenges head-on. This is accomplished by allowing the difficult feelings and emotions to have a space in our lives “temporarily” as we experience difficult events.

Climbing out of the car, I stared up at the balcony, cringing as images bombarded me of Joyce grasping for anything to keep from falling, gravity pulling her down no matter how hard she fought, her mind realizing the pavement below would end her life. I reminded myself that was not what happened. The tree had broken her fall. She was in a coma but still alive with a highly uncertain future.

Sunny Truly is a private investigator’s…assistant. One day, she will have that title and she is determined to earn it. After an exhausting divorce and terrible career-shattering video on Youtube, Sunny knows that she has to have some seriously good karma coming her way sometime soon. When her and her sister’s good friend, Joyce, winds up in the hospital in a coma and a man dead in her apartment—Sunny is immediately asked to investigate. She knows that there is no possible way that Joyce could kill anyone, but must clear her name and find the real killer before she wakes up from her coma. Could this mystery become too dangerous for Sunny to handle when it seems like everyone who lives a life of the rich and famous has a motive to want someone dead?

Osgood has a great story-line with complex characters that are creative and strong. The content is original and the pace is steady. There are several spelling and grammatical errors throughout the read, but the story-line is solid. Since this is an advanced reader copy, these may have been cleaned up upon further proofreading, but if not, this should not hinder enjoyment of the novel at all. If you are a reader of cozy mysteries and women’s fiction, you may want to check it out. This is the first book in the Sunny Truly Mystery Series; therefore, readers can dive right in.

Author Interview

When did you decide to become a writer?

A very long time ago. I was in elementary school reading Greek mythology when I decided to write my own Greek myth about a wood sprite. Unfortunately my teacher did not care for my creativity. Years later, another teacher helped me discover journalism and, in high school, I wrote features for the school paper and later for my hometown daily. But then I got busy with life and working in the film industry, and only recently began to write novels.

What are your ambitions for your writing career?

World domination! Or at least several novels that stay on a best-selling list for six months! If only…Seriously, I would be happy right now to write more Sunny Truly mysteries and another cozy series set in a small seaside town. I’m not sure which coast or state, but it’s cooking in my gray matter, way, way over there on a back burner.

What genre are your books? What draws you to this genre?

I like sassy, determined female protagonists with a sense of humor. I don’t see how anyone can go through life without humor and the self-perspective humor brings to you. That’s why I like chick lit, because it involves the main character becoming more aware of what she wants and doesn’t want in life and love, and she does it while making mistakes or making a fool out of herself, but still keeping her sense of humor.

The Sunny Truly series is what I would call a chick lit cozy mystery because the reader is deep into the mind of the female sleuth as she tries to solve the murder mystery while still living her day-to-day life, which includes romantic encounters, and, of course, food, family and friends, especially girlfriends and margaritas (yum). I enjoy cozies because they include humor, a bit of romance (sometimes) and the sleuth’s family, friends, pets and the other characters that populate the main character’s world. Plus, there’s the puzzle of discovering whodunit.

Which writers inspire you?

For romantic comedy, I’m a big fan of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Sophie Kinsella. For mysteries, Joy Fielding and for darker stuff, Harlan Coben. As for cozies, there are way too many, but let me say right now I’m enjoying Diane Orgain’s cozy series.

If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?

I guess it would be my favorite classic, The Great Gatsby. The descriptive prose is scrumptious with its irony and humor, and, of course, its brilliant sense of the tragedy that emerges from chasing one’s illusions. Perhaps that’s why I like chick lit because the protagonist usually has to confront her romantic illusions, and learn what’s real and what’s not.

They sat together on her bed. “What are we going to do, Abbie?” he asked. His eyes brimmed with fresh tears. “What if Mom doesn’t come home tomorrow or the day after?” “She will, Miles,” Abbie answered and rubbed his shoulders. “It’s just a mix-up. Remember the time you brought home Max Mitchell’s backpack by mistake because the two of you had the same bag? And you almost got in trouble the next day but then they figured out what happened?” Miles nodded. “Well, it’s like that with Mom. It’s a mistake. Once the police find out she didn’t do anything wrong, she’ll come home and they’ll look for the real bad guy.” “But what if they don’t find him? Does that mean Mom will never come back to us?”
What would you do if someone that you loved, was arrested for a dangerous crime? There would be so many questions and so much emotional insecurity, but at that moment, trust would mean everything. If your trust in someone was completely broken, that doesn’t just affect that person–rather it is a mutual loss.  Kabongo delves into this world, a world filled with deception and suspense. This author provides her readers with first person and third person accounts of a family suffering through an undeniably difficult and perplexing situation where the mother is charged with murder.
Shelby Cooper is a well known celebrity in the science world. She has two children, Abbie and Miles, a wonderful husband who also makes his own fortune, and a family pet. Everything for Shelby is perfect–or so that is what it looks like to everyone else. Shelby has skeletons in her closet from her past, a past that she has never told anyone, but someone knows. Someone is going around and falsifying evidence against her which will land her in jail.  “Fancy meeting you here,” a familiar voice said behind her.
Surprised, Maren turned in her chair to see Harrison standing there.
“Harrison!” She stood. “What are you doing here? Are you covering weddings along with funerals now?”
“No.” He motioned for her to resume her seat and took the empty chair to her right. “I’m a guest.”
“I didn’t see you at the wedding.”
“I know. I wanted to be here sooner but old lady Whipple passed away this week and I was stuck covering her funeral instead of here at my cousin’s wedding.”
“Are you a cousin of the bride or the groom?”
“Groom. We played a lot of street hockey growing up. I’m the reason for the scar by his left temple.” He smiled and waved at the groom who waved back. “What are you doing here? And why weren’t you at the Whipple funeral?” His forehead scrunched. “Wait a minute. What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be on your honeymoon?”
“I guess you haven’t heard.”
“I guess not. Care to spill the sordid details?”
She played with the condensation on her water glass. “Not really.”

Blog Tour: Piecing Together Sydney by Brittney Coon

(A Sydney West Novel #3)
This year’s annual voyage to Malibu will be unlike any other…
Sydney West is no longer a party girl looking for summer boys to occupy her nights. She has found love with Jason King and agreed to marry him. With wedding plans in full swing for the July deadline, everything seems to be perfect.
Until someone from Jason’s past interrupts their summer getaway…
When Jason turns cold and distant, the party scene beckons Sydney to return to her old drink-all-night ways. Only this time the guys at the bar don’t hold her attention, but when Sydney’s drink is drugged by a so-called friend—she kisses one of them. When Jason finds out, he leaves the beach house to clear his head, but a couple hours quickly turn into days.
It’s hard to have a wedding without the groom…
This summer is nothing like what Sydney had planned, and for the first time she’s afraid of the future. Sydney finally figured out what she wants and she isn’t willing to let Jason go without a fight. But is it already too late? Sydney will risk everything to…
piece herself, and the life she wants, back together again.
Excerpt 1:
Next year was my senior year, and I’d be attending classes
as a married woman at the age of twenty-two.
God, what did I get
myself into? I only wanted to have fun. Now my summer boy will be my husband.
How insane is that?
I stared down at my ring, watching it shine in the sun. The
diamond captured the light perfectly, turning it into a rainbow of color. For
the rest of my life I’d wear a ring on my left hand. Forever Jason was going to
own my heart. He was a better keeper than I. My heart surrendered to a cage of
ice when it was in my possession. With Jason it was warm and cared for.
Someone cleared their throat a few feet in front of me. I
looked up and found Jason giving me one of his signature grins. That smile made
my stomach feel like it was filled with butterflies.
“Hey, Syd. Admiring your awesome rock, I see?” He chuckled,
sitting down next to me.
A blush burnt my cheeks. “Maybe. My phone’s dead, so I’m
bored. How was your test?”
He shook his head. “I told you last night you should plug
your phone in, but you never listen.”
I flipped my hair over my shoulder. “Because I would’ve
forgotten it on my way out.”
“Not if I unplugged it and put it in your bag before I left
for class.” He grabbed my left hand, running his thumb over my ring. “I’m good
at taking care of you, Syd.”
A shy smile tugged my lips upward. “Yeah, I know.” I leaned
forward and kissed him. He tasted like mint and coffee. I wanted to drink him
in and let everything else go. His teeth grazed my bottom lip, sending a coil
of need through my core.

Excerpt 2:
Jason put his fingers to my lips, killing my words. “Just
don’t scream…”
His mouth was on my collarbone, moving lower. His other hand
was at my back, trying to undo my bra as his left continued to rub me down
I had to bite my lip to keep quiet. He tore off my shirt and
unhooked my bra. His shirt peeled off, and we were chest to chest. I straddled
him, rubbing myself on his member, awaking it.
Jason’s eyes rolled back. I sealed my lips to his to keep us
both from moaning. His fingers found their way to my breasts, rolling my
nipples into hard pebbles, making the ache within me grow into a raging fire.
I unbuttoned his jean shorts and moved his zipper down. To
remove his shorts, I had to move off of him and pull them all the way down. A
smile came to my lips when I found he was wearing Scooby-Doo boxers.
“How cute. I knew these would look good on you.” I had
bought them for him a few days ago, and he laughed, but I wasn’t sure if he’d
actually wear them. Guess I knew now.
A wicked grin took his lips. “Baby, I wore them just for
this moment.” With that, he placed his hands on both my sides and yanked not only
my shorts, but also my underwear down my legs.
I bent down and received a condom from his jeans’ pocket.
Our eyes locked as I bit it open and removed the condom. Jason leaned his head
back as I stroked his cock before sliding the rubber in place.
“You ready, baby?” I ran my hands through my hair, trying to
get it out of my face.
“I’m always ready for you.” His breath was uneven, and his
eyes locked upon me like I was the only girl in the world.
The pounding between my legs intensified, knowing it was about
to get what it desired. I placed my legs on either side of his hips. We kissed
as I slowly moved myself down upon him, letting my walls move and allow him
His hand caressed my breasts, bringing the left one to his
mouth. He gingerly bit it, making me throw my head back with a moan. His hand
went to my lips. I nibbled the pad of his thumb as I rocked myself against him.
The photo album slipped off the couch onto the floor. I looked down at it for a heartbeat. How times have changed for the better. That album could retire. This summer, I was going to have a new album…a wedding album.

Excerpt 3:
“Hey, did I wake you?” I crawled into bed and snuggled close
to him again.
He enveloped in me his arms. “No, but I moved my arm and
felt only empty space. I guess that woke me.”
I nuzzled his neck. “We’ve become that lovesick couple,
haven’t we?”
He chuckled, making his Adam’s apple bounce. “Maybe, but
we’re getting married. I think people expect us to love each other so much it
makes others nauseous.”
I traced his hair line down his stomach to the edge of his
boxers. “I guess. What should we do today? Amelia and Hunter are gone all day
and maybe all night too.”
Jason kissed the top of my head. “Remind me why they’re
ditching us?”
I sat up, propping myself up on my elbow. “Amelia wants a
little break from wedding planning and to enjoy the summer with her boyfriend.”
I shrugged, raking my teeth over my bottom lip. Jason’s breath hitched. The
reaction I was hoping for. “I don’t want to leave the bedroom today. I think we
need a break from the wedding too…” I rubbed my lips together and looked up at
Jason through my lashes.
“That’s one of the best ideas I’ve heard.” He flipped me
onto my back and kissed my collarbones. I wiggled under him. He knew I
preferred being on top and liked to tease me.
“Come on, baby. You’re killing me.” I couldn’t get out from
under him. His body pinned me to the bed.
He cackled, grabbing both my wrists in one hand and holding
them above my head. “Be still, and I’ll let you go.” His tongue ran down my
throat to my chest. He nibbled at the top of my breast. His free hand unhooked
my bra, freeing my breasts. “I love it when you only sleep in a bra and

When did you decide to become a writer?

I always toyed with the idea of writing as a kid, but I didn’t truly start until after graduating from high school. I started writing poetry and within a year I jumped to writing books.

What are your ambitions for your writing career?

I’d like to have all my books published. Right now I have three books published, nine books I need to edit and publish, and five books to finish. Not to mention countless other ideas to start. My main goal is to turn some of my books into films (and hopefully be their writer and director) and to make my rock star’s trilogy into a TV show. She already has two episodes written.

What genre are your books? What draws you to this genre?

I write mostly contemporary new adult romance and contemporary young adult. I usually read books in those two genres so I feel the most comfortable writing in them. My dream is to go into a book store and see my books next to my favorite novels.

Which writers inspire you?

Sarah Dessen, Ellen Hopkins, and Laurell K Hamilton. I have a lot of other books by different authors that inspire me, but those three authors truly helped me learn the craft of writing.

If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?

This is such a hard question! I’d have to say If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman. Those books completely broke my heart and had me sobbing on my poor cat. Then Gayle stitched my heart back together. I love those books and it would be amazing to say I was their author.

My Enemy, My Love by Ruth Kaufman

Publication Date: September 6, 2016

Genre: Romance

Lady Aline de Lacy is one of hundreds of people trapped between a chateau under siege and the French army’s camp in the midst of winter. If she survives, she yearns to return to her happy life as an earl’s daughter in England.

Sir Apollo de Norville, King Philip II’s messenger, prefers the freedom of the road to settling down with a wife and the responsibility of managing lands. But after he rescues an unconscious beauty from the cold and helps her recover from her ordeal, he’s commanded to marry her as a gesture of peace between their two countries.

Mutual attraction sparks, though neither wants to wed. Because he staunchly supports the French claim to the chateau, while she can’t fathom being tied to or having children with someone who works for the king who attacked her and her family.

How do you live with, much less love, your enemy?

Apollo sat beside her on the bed, no longer hiding the longing in his gaze. She drew in a breath as he leaned forward slowly. Her eyes widened as he slid close, then closer until their hips touched. That slight contact heightened his desire.

He put his hand on her waist, welcoming the feel of her sweet curve in his palm. Closer still he moved. She didn’t pull away. One more slide toward her, ‘til their lips were inches apart.

“What are you doing?” she whispered. Her breath smelled enticingly sweet.

“Seeing what we might have. And if I find what I think I will, and you do as well, perhaps we should wed. Desiring one’s spouse and welcoming his or her caresses would be something significant to build on.”

Apollo yearned to kiss her and assess her response. What would she taste like, feel like? Was there even a hint of compatibility? Perhaps they could be intimate and share pleasure, despite their opposing politics and loyalties.

So lovely. So sweet and soft. Soon to be his.

“I desire you, Aline,” he said, his voice low and deep.

“You do?”

“Yes. First, I want to kiss you.” Her lips parted, the sensual invitation spurring him on. “Then…we’ll see. What do you desire?”

Aline didn’t move away, but met his gaze boldly. And that gleam was back. Inquisitive. Clearly interested.

He angled his head slightly for better access to those soft, pink lips. Did she really want this, too, or was she using her feminine wiles to sway him to her cause? No matter, for she was willing. Ready.

They jumped apart as two young women entered, their arms laden with clothes, shoes and other feminine items.

If only they’d arrived a few moments later. He’d so wanted, nay, needed, to kiss Aline.
